Notes:
- Our inspections are limited to provided safe access, non-destructive observations, and measurements with standard equipment as reasonably practicable.
- Our structural design reviews are based on the procured information, compliance at the time of construction unless notified or assessed otherwise, and our professional judgement.
- The intended audience of our structural documentation are suitably qualified building practitioners.
- If construction is required, the builder is responsible for the maintenance of safety and method of construction without affecting the structural strength or serviceability of surrounding structures. If any element presents difficulty in respect to safety and constructability, or if in doubt, refer to the relevant party for resolution prior to proceeding with the work.
See below our typical services and fee structure:
Structural Inspection/Consultation
- $405 plus GST
- Additional $45 plus GST per 15 minutes over 45 minutes site time
- Additional $45 plus GST per 15 minutes over 75 minutes return travel
- Visual non-destructive inspection of requested structures and site conditions, clarifying and confirming the construction, discussing and explaining various options, and answering all structural related questions.
Structural Specifications & Design Certification
- Small jobs $315 plus $135/225/315 plus GST per minor/moderate/major structural item (e.g. beam, slab, bracing structure, earth-retaining structure)
- For larger jobs, please provide details of proposed work for fee proposal
- Fee is additional to inspection fee
- Structural specifications for construction and certification for assurance of design compliance.
- Shop drawings by others if required (fabrication drawings to suit our structural specifications, site conditions and builder's preferred method of construction, usually arranged by the builder or project manager).
Structural Inspection during Construction & Report/Certification
- To confirm our provided structural specifications
- $675 plus GST
- Additional $45 plus GST per 15 minutes over 45 minutes site time
- Additional $45 plus GST per 15 minutes over 75 minutes return travel
- Fee is per inspection
- Visual non-destructive inspection and report to inform extent of compliance.
- Includes minor instructions/specifications for compliance if required.
- Major instructions/specifications for compliance incur additional fees for the additional work if required.
- ABCB minimum mandatory structural inspections where applicable:
- Prior to concrete pours
- Framing prior to the application of coverings
- High risk elements
- If any element presents difficulty in respect to safety and constructability, or if in doubt
